I was happy to discover this coffee shop in Atyrau. It is situated on the side of an apartment building along Qanysh Satbayev Ave. You will recognize the cafeteria by the sign and wide windows. The interior is pleasant, lots of interesting details, such as carton and felt lamp shades, comfy furniture and indoor waterfall wall (very tempting to touch, which I secretly do when passing by). The great variety of coffee drinks for any taste, from espresso to alternative ways of coffee preparation. For unknown reason, barista serve females with a very cute coffee art on a cappuccino, while males get plain milk foam. So, if you are man and you want your drawing, you specifically ask for it (weird, I know). There is always something curious on to try, for instance peach taste rainbow latte. They have a seasonal and regular food menu, breakfast, business lunch and a good choice of desserts to accompany a tasty coffee drink.  You can also buy freshly roasted coffee (can be grinded for you for free), syrups and useful coffee cups. It’s a place any coffee lover would be happy to go! My favorite spot so far!

Qurmanghazy St 12, Infinity fitness

A hidden little spot, just next door to the Infinity Gym. Not a must visit in town, but if you are passing by, make a stop to try tea, homemade lemonade or a coffee. The quality of the coffee drink is average. However, they have a good variety of desserts to add some sweetness to the bitterness of a coffee.

Another place that provides that much needed coffee hit of the day. The interior is very nice, the second floor has very stylish and cozy design, which is mostly open when the first floor is full. But be prepared to have service delay if you are sitting upstairs especially if it’s a busy Sunday, and plan your bathroom trip in advance, because the facilities are on the first floor. The barista seems to have his own vision and pace on how to make cappuccino or it just took time for the drink to arrive at the table, but at first time visit I got my long-awaited drink almost cold. However, second attempt during the weekday lunch was without any complaint. There is a great variety of desserts and baked goodies. I have tried warm apple pie served with a scoop of ice-cream, as my husband is a big fan of this desert, we were impressed with the portion, it’s suitable for sharing.

Baizaar mall

Another coffee franchise from Russia, the city of Izhevsk to be precise. Who would have guessed that Kalashnikov gun birthplace will become a new Russian coffee capital J. This franchise is specializing on a take away coffee. They have a small bar at BAIZAAR mall with a few seating chairs. When it comes to coffee, I’m classy, so I have ordered a regular cappuccino, not to say I wasn’t impressed, the milk was a bit burned and the coffee didn’t taste right. They have a lot of syrups and other adds to a coffee drink, I guess that is to cover the actual coffee taste. Maybe it was just an occasion. They offer a free 6^th drink, you will need to provide your name and telephone number.

Baizaar mall

Another coffee spot inside the same mall in the food court on the 3^rd floor. If you need a quick stop while shopping at Baizaar mall, treat yourself with a good coffee and a quick pizza bite. The place is more suitable for a take away or short break, very bright and modern interior. You place an order at the register, and when it’s ready, they will scream your name until you respond and collect the order. I have tried a cappuccino and a small size pizza with salmon. Was satisfied with dark roasted balanced taste of coffee and a delish pizza. Coffee shop has a good variety of desserts as well.

Renaissance Hotel Coffee

15 B, Satpayev Street, Mosque District, Renaissance Hotel

A great ambience of a renovated Renaissance hotel lobby is worth to visit; stylish furniture and pleasant warm lighting are especially appreciated in a cold and windy winter days. The coffee drink accompanied with complementary homemade cookies, an attractive representation of a drink and service is appropriate for a good quality hotel bar.

7K Café

ISKER Consortium

 Want to try authentic Italian, 7K is a perfect place for that. Great cafeteria to seat at the bar by the big window, people-watching and sipping Italian espresso. When it comes to other coffee drinks, they are just as good. It’s the sort of place popular for business lunch, so beware to come before noon, there are not many sitting spots, and they run out of main courses quickly. However, a take away option is also available. Not many places offer the brown sugar, but they do. If sugar is not a concern, try delicious desserts, that are presented there.

San Francisco Coffee Bean

Abay St 4, Ak Zhaik hotel

 Great spot for coffee in a quiet atmosphere at the ground floor of Ak Zhaik hotel. Situated on the ¨Asian side¨ of Ural river next to big roundabout at the end of the bridge (Abay st.). I have caught some nice sunlight while sipping my cappuccino at the midday by the window near the wall poster of a Golden Gate bridge. The drink is served with small cookie on the side as a nice extra. They have a selection of sweet and savory pastry to accompany the coffee of your choice.
